Agenda for Nov. 5th meeting!

We are excited to announce the agenda of this Saturday’s meeting at University of Maryland, College Park.
Don’t forget to bring food to share, and see some important updates at the bottom of this post.
From 12pm to 4pm:

Intros and updates from campuses – sharing our stories! (10 minutes)
Group activity – icebreaker fun! (30 minutes)
Campaign discussions- wind and other possible campaigns (50 minutes)
Break (10 minutes)
Solidarity letter writing- Tim DeChristopher’s story, sending our support and gratitude. (30 minutes)
Break (15 minutes)
Working group goals review (10-15 minutes)
Working group breakouts (30 minutes)
Update/news discussion on national campaigns (20 minutes)
Next steps – evening and tomorrow (20 minutes)
Break – leave if you need, or stick around for evening activities!
—Energy Action Coalition and Sierra Student Coalition Youth Caucus @ 6:30 downtown (6:30 – ?) – meet students from all over the nation that will be in DC for the KXL action! Solidarity!
—Screening @ UMD: Green Fire- Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time (~ 2 hours) – chill out on campus and be inspired through the story of the visionary Aldo Leopold!

SUNDAY: Meet up at Lafayette Sq Pk around 1 p.m. for the Tar Sands Action around the White House. They’re going to feature student activists as much as possible, so come on out and represent!

Please plan ahead with parking on the UMD campus or taking the metro.  There are closings on the red line this weekend.
